As we share the value of Communities In Schools with our school district partners, we’re pleased to have in our court Daniel Domenech, executive director of AASA, The School Superintendents Association.
This longtime supporter of Communities In Schools and former superintendent has served as chair of the board for CIS of Virginia and is now on the board of directors at Communities In Schools National.
In his role with AASA, Domenech serves as national spokesperson and advocate for public education, superintendents and other school system leaders. He provides thought leadership in the education arena through public appearances, media interviews and published articles.
Recently Domenech wrote about Communities In Schools in the AASA’s publication School Administrator. The article, titled “A Total Child Model We Should Emulate,” endorses the Communities In Schools model of site coordination as an effective means for addressing the dropout issue.
The June 2013 issue of the publication focused on the theme, “A Second Chance for Dropouts: getting students back on track before it’s too late.” You can read other articles in that issue here.
