We’re excited to announce that Lara Unger, Site Coordinator with Communities In Schools of Peninsula, recently won the prestigious All In For Students Award from CIS National.
Lara is all ‘heart’ when it comes to the kids she works with. She is passionate about equalizing opportunities for students on her caseload despite the challenges they face.
Colleen Speer, Executive Director, CIS of Peninsula
The All In for Students Awards, created in 2007, honors the exemplary dedication of CIS staff, educators, community partners and CIS alumni, who go all in for students, empowering them to stay in school, graduate and go on to brighter futures. Lara was chosen from among 2,500 site coordinators across the country and received this year’s 13th annual award at the CIS national leadership conference in Chicago, Illinois, this September. CIS of Peninsula nominated her for outstanding work with the diverse student population at Harbor Heights Elementary School in Gig Harbor.
Congratulations, Lara and CIS of Peninsula! We’re so proud to see you and all of the site coordinators in our network go #AllinforKids every day.
