Support Communities In Schools of Washington Through Your Donor-Advised Funds (DAF)

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is an investment account created for the sole purpose of supporting the charitable organizations you care about. By contributing cash, securities, or other assets to your DAF, you’ll receive an immediate tax deduction while giving to CISWA, and other causes close to your heart, on your own schedule.

DAFs are the fastest-growing charitable giving vehicle in the United States because they are simple, flexible, and tax-advantageous. You can make one-time gifts or set up recurring donations, all from a single account to one charity or many. Help strengthen communities and support students across Washington by recommending a grant to CISWA from your donor-advised fund.

Learn more about Donor-Advised Funds

How does a Donor-Advised Fund work?

Make a tax-deductible donation. You establish a DAF by contributing cash, stock, or other non-cash assets to a DAF sponsor such as Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, or a local community foundation, to receive an immediate income tax deduction.

Grow your donation tax-free. While you’re deciding which charities to support, your donation can potentially grow, increasing the amount available for charities.

Support charities you love, now or over time. You can support almost any IRS-qualified charity with grant recommendations from the DAF at a pace most comfortable for you.

What are the benefits of a Donor-Advised Fund?

  • Contribute a wide range of assets to a single, flexible philanthropic fund.
  • Centralize your giving and record-keeping in one place.
  • Receive an immediate tax deduction and eliminate capital gains on donated stock.
