Steve Bergquist is a high school social studies teacher in the Renton School District as well as a five term member of the Washington State House of Representatives serving the 11th Legislative District. (Renton, Tukwila and a portion of Kent) His priorities include helping working families and ensuring students and educators — from PreK-12 to higher education — have the support they need to succeed.
After graduating from Renton’s Hazen High School, Steve earned a double major in political science and history from the University of Washington and received his master’s in teaching with a social studies endorsement from Western Washington University.
Steve and his wife Avanti, a physician, have two kids in elementary school in the Renton School District.
