Aline currently works as a Foundation Leader for an Iowa non-profit focused on building trade school education in public schools. “Much of my education (MA in Political Science) focused on economic disparity in the United States. When my children started elementary school, I saw firsthand how this disparity contributed to education gaps. Watching students struggle with basic needs and lacking resources in our schools, I felt the need to help. After serving on several education committees and task forces, Communities In Schools was started in our community. CIS helps meet the needs of our students through partnerships and caring adults and makes a difference in the lives of so many students in all our communities,” Carnahan says.
Aline grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and currently lives in Bothell, Washington. Outside of work and serving the CIS community, Aline enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
