About the State Office
and Our Washington CIS Network
Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
In Washington, Communities In Schools operates as a network of 12 independent, local affiliates and a state office. Our affiliates work directly within school ecosystems to help position students for academic success. By partnering with other community agencies, CIS affiliates connect kids and families to resources that help them overcome obstacles and break through to a future of possibilities.
At the state office, we support our affiliates to do the life-changing work of serving students and families. We ensure that our network has the tools to support students in every learning environment and life situation. This year, we’re building our network’s capacity to re-engage with students who were absent during the pandemic. The state office supported CIS of North Central Washington to become an independent 501(c)(3) and we also launched CIS programs in Yakima, Walla Walla, and communities across rural central/eastern Washington.
We invite you to join our extended team of capacity builders and make a state-level impact. By supporting the state office, you are helping to ensure that CIS is here to serve kids with quality, scalability, and sustainability–in schools and beyond!
