We do whatever it takes to help more kids stay in school and graduate, and our 2015-2016 year-end outcomes show the impact of this work.
The key to Communities In Schools’ success is our site coordinators. Equal parts compassion and expertise, site coordinators work one-to-one with struggling students to get them what they need to stay on track.
Last year Communities In Schools site coordinators touched the lives of students in 19 Washington school districts: 48,464 students received school-wide services and 4,670 received one-to-one, case-managed services. An additional 19,207 students received other support services and we engaged with 18,242 parents. Of the students receiving individualized case managed assistance:
- 99% of secondary students stayed in school
- 93% of secondary students were promoted to the next grade or graduated
- 89% improved academic performance
- 84% improved attendance
- 80% improved behavior
Of all organizations working toward student achievement nationwide, only Communities In Schools is proven to increase proficiency in math and reading (key indicators for potential student success), decrease dropout rates, and boost on-time graduation rates.
