Washington State Office

Leading a concerted mission to help Washington youth graduate prepared for life.

For our network of twelve affiliates we strengthen operations and increase their capacity to serve. We deliver expertise in program development, evaluation, business practices, communications and resource development, which allows affiliates to focus their energy on direct service to kids.

Across Washington we advocate for struggling kids and families by informing policy-makers about our school-based model, encouraging businesses to invest in their future workforce, and inspiring citizens to volunteer on behalf of struggling children and families

Services delivered to the network

In addition to helping communities implement the Communities In Schools model, the Washington State Office supports its network of 12 affiliate programs by providing timely, personalized service in following ways:

  • Program development: we help affiliates implement the proven Communities In Schools model of school-based service coordination.
  • Evaluation: we employ our national evaluation tools to collect consistent and meaningful data that helps us build better programs.
  • Business practices: we help affiliates implement sound business practices that ensure good financial stewardship and operational efficiencies.
  • Communications: we develop statewide marketing messages and materials that build a consistent brand (broadcast campaigns and customized websites and print materials).
  • Resource development: we form relationships with corporations and foundations to fund Communities In Schools affiliates across Washington.

Our support is key to growing and strengthening the 12 Washington affiliates’ ability to effect positive change in the lives of thousands of young people across Washington.
